OLOF: The series "La Luz Sobre El Mar” is created as a love letter. Love between two people, love towards the nature, love towards our own bodies. I went out in the early summer dawn with Johanna and Elin to create a documentation of their affection towards each other. We ran around naked in the woods and the archipelago just as we did summertime as kids, holding our loved ones close, keeping our minds open, our hearts wide.

Ultimately the series is a document of energetic connections: the energy created between two humans, between them and the nature, between the co-existing elements surrounding us; earth, water, air, fire. The universe is infinite, all is full of love, cherish it.

JESPER: Olof Grind brings you to a World of images that are warm, inviting, and vibrant. They tell stories of intimacy, and create a necessary visual canon that many of us longed for in our formative years.

Olof Grind was asked if he wanted to show at Bar Brillo in our second Pride-week collaboration because of how he manages to create a world of intimacy, tenderness, hope and magic that I think is important to show people in an era of cynicism and increasing tension. The series he is showing in August acts as a beacon of light that we all need at this time.

I first met Olof through mutual artist friends Angelina Bergenwall and My Roman Fagerlind, to whose vernissage he showed up, and to which his fans subsequently were drawn. Community is so very important, and collaboration is a tool which we build it with. That is what this exhibition is to me. A beacon of light and warmth, community and collaboration.

I want to thank Olof Grind, Carl Carboni, Jonas Andersson, Svenska Brasserier, My Roman Fagerlind and Angelina Bergenwall.
